Amundsen is a data discovery and metadata engine for improving the productivity of data analysts, data scientists, and engineers. Amundsen indexes data resources and powers a page-rank style search based on usage patterns — like a Google search for internal data. The project is named after Norwegian explorer Roald Amundsen, the first person to discover the South Pole.
Amundsen was started by an internal team and Lyft but is now used by data teams at ING, Square, Bang & Olufsen, Cameo, iRobot, and many more.
